31. Cadiz. Top things to do in Cadiz. Travel to Cadiz in Andalusia, Spain

In this Episode we take you travelling to the oldest continuously inhabited city on the Iberian Peninsular.

Cadiz is a small city in Andalusia in southern Spain on a peninsular surrounded on 3 sides by the sea and it could just be the perfect destination for you.

We spent a lot of time exploring Cadiz– including the beaches, castles, cathedrals, crypts, history, architecture, food, parks, promenades – did I say food? The only thing it doesn’t have is many tourists.

We take you walking all around the stunning promenade which stretches along the beach where we discover plazas, statues, waters features, waterfalls and, believe it or not, dinosaurs.

We tell you about the fascinating history of the port city which was invaded many times and it is where Christopher Columbus set sail on two of his exploration voyages.

Listen along as we explore the Cadiz Cathedral. We go up one of the two 130ft towers and and down into the domed crypt with 5 alcoves.

You will also learn how and why there are 133 watch towers all around the old town.

We finally discover the central markets with fresh produce, including a seafood market and the best place to eat while you are in Cadiz.

Finally, listen as we tell you all you need to know about visiting and enjoying Cadiz and surrounding areas and stick around to the end to hear which sexy star emerged from the beach in a famous scene from a James Bond movie.
